Former Directors of SIAP

Since its establishment, SIAP has been headed by outstanding statisticians from ESCAP member States. By the time they became Director of SIAP, they all had a remarkable professional and managerial record in developing national statistical system in their countries.

The extensive experience of the former Directors and their in-depth knowledge of the challenges facing national statistical offices in developing countries in Asia and the Pacific played a key role in making the Institute as a premier training institute in official statistics. Under their leadership and guidance, SIAP achieved outstanding results in assisting member States through providing practically oriented training to government officials/statisticians
