Leading and Managing for Quality Statistics

Integrating the Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics in the core business processes of national statistical systems calls for determined leadership that promotes and supports coordination and assures quality in statistical production processes. SIAP organizes series of seminars and workshops for high and middle level managers and senior technical staff of national statistical systems that facilitate discussion of issues and challenges, explore models and tools and identify solutions through sharing of experiences and good practices.

Management Seminar for the Heads of NSOs

This seminar is organized every year in collaboration with the Statistics Division of ESCAP and the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD). The aim of the seminar is to stimulate discussions and debate and share good practices on issues and challenges in leading and managing national statistical organizations (NSOs).

Statistical Quality Management and Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics

A training series for middle-level managers of national statistical offices who direct quality assurance and improvement of official statistics and statistical services. The series is designed for statisticians who are involved in planning, designing and implementing quality frameworks such as a National Quality Assurance Framework (NQAF).

Forging Partnerships in Statistical Training

These workshops provide a forum to identify strategies and corresponding coordination mechanisms to effectively address demand for training in official statistics in Asia and the Pacific.
Recent partnerships have involved the member states of Republic of Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia and India. Strong partnerships continue to exist with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the International Labour Organisation (ILO), Tokushima University, University of South Pacific amongst others.
