First Forging Partnerships in Statistical Training in Asia and the Pacific

Objectives

  • To explore possible arrangements for future cooperation and collaboration in the training of official statisticians in the region, with emphasis on structural, lasting partnerships aiming to enhance the statistical training of participants from a multiple number of countries.
  • To exchange views on future strategies for more coherent systems of training in official statistics, reflecting the national and international priorities and the needs of the individual statistical organizations in the region, in particular those of the countries lacking the resources to organize in-house training for the capacity building of their staff.
