Fifth Basic-Level e-Learning Course on Introduction to System of National Accounts (2008 SNA)

One hundred and fifty statisticians from Armenia, China, Fiji, Hong Kong (China) ,India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Lao PDR, Macao (China), Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tonga, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Vietnam are participating in the fifth e-learning course on introduction to national accounts focusing on SNA 2008. The nine-week online course is being conducted by SIAP in collaboration with the Australia Bureau of Statistics.

This course introduces the basic tenets of the 2008 System of National Accounts (SNA2008) for junior statisticians involved in the compilation of national accounts statistics and its source statistics. It is also a useful for statisticians intending to broaden their knowledge of official economic statistics and considering work in national accounts statistics. Training tools for the course include online tests, assignments and discussion forums in which experts guide participants on specific issues.

A total of six lessons are offered in this course and include institutional sectors, the macroeconomic framework and the SNA 2008accounts amongst others.
