Sub-Regional Training Workshop on Changes in SNA 2008 Affecting GDP Compilation

Organized by ESCAP Statistics Division and SIAP, hosted by the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Statistics and funded by the Russian Federation.

A week long workshop on changes in the System of National Accounts 2008 (SNA 2008) affecting GDP compilation ended on July 4, 2014 in Astana Kazakhstan. The workshop was a joint collaboration of SIAP, ESCAP Statistics Division, the Russian Federation State Statistics Service, the International Monetary Fund and the Agency of Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Funded by the Russian Federation, the workshop drew 25 statistics experts from Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Russian Federation, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The workshop focused on changes in the SNA 2008 and specific topics on measuring the non-observed economy, volume measures and imputed rents.
